ORDERING MADE EASY
How to Order Fresh Sourdough Bread in Ormond Beach
If you’ve ever wondered where to buy fresh sourdough bread in Ormond Beach, you’re in the right place. Seaside Sourdough is a small batch home bakery in Ormond by the Sea offering weekly online bread drops with convenient porch pickup.

We Don’t Have a Storefront. Here’s Why.
One of the questions I hear most often is:
“Where is your bakery?”
The answer is a little different than most people expect.
Seaside Sourdough is a Florida Cottage Food home bakery operating from my kitchen in Ormond by the Sea. Instead of keeping shelves stocked every day, I bake to order once each week.
That means every loaf, every bagel, every pan of focaccia, and every cinnamon bun is made specifically for customers who ordered during that week’s bread drop.
Nothing sits around waiting to be sold.
Everything is baked fresh for pickup.
Step 1: Browse the Weekly Menu
Every Sunday, a fresh menu opens online through Hotplate.
You’ll usually find neighborhood favorites like:
- Classic sourdough boules
- Sourdough bagels
- Sandwich bread
- Rosemary sea salt focaccia
- Cinnamon buns
- Seasonal specials
Not every product appears every single week. One of the fun parts of running a small bakery is being able to rotate seasonal flavors and special items throughout the year while keeping the menu focused around customer favorites.
Hotplate recommends keeping menus simple with a handful of hero products instead of offering dozens of choices. A smaller menu makes ordering easier for customers while allowing each product to receive the attention it deserves. :contentReference[oaicite:0]{index=0}
Step 2: Place Your Order Before Wednesday
Orders stay open until Wednesday at noon…
…unless everything sells out first.
Because Seaside Sourdough is intentionally baked in small batches, popular items occasionally disappear before the official deadline.
I’d much rather bake fewer incredible loaves than rush production just to make more inventory.
Fresh bread is always the goal.

Step 3: I Bake Everything Fresh
Once ordering closes, the real work begins.
Your dough is mixed, fermented, shaped by hand, baked, cooled, packaged, labeled, and prepared specifically for your pickup day.
There isn’t a warehouse.
There isn’t a factory.
There also isn’t a mysterious back room where bread magically appears.
It’s just me, several mixers, a lot of timers, and more flour than I’d ever like to admit vacuuming off the kitchen floor.
Step 4: Pick Up Your Bread
When your order is ready, it will be waiting in my self serve porch pickup cabinet in Ormond by the Sea.
Simply stop by during your selected pickup window, find the bag with your name on it, and head home with fresh bread.
Current pickup windows are:
- Friday evenings
- Saturday mornings
It is quick, easy, and honestly one of my favorite parts of the business because neighbors get to wave hello without anyone feeling rushed.
Why Some Weeks Sell Out
If you’ve visited the menu and noticed an item marked Sold Out, don’t panic.
That simply means someone else loved it enough to order first.
One of the advantages of operating a weekly bread drop is that I can focus on quality instead of constantly trying to keep shelves full.
Hotplate actually encourages small food businesses to grow inventory gradually because consistent sellouts help build excitement and encourage customers to subscribe for future drops. :contentReference[oaicite:1]{index=1}
When products do sell out, I occasionally add a few extra items later if production allows, so it always pays to keep an eye on the menu.

The Best Way to Never Miss a Drop
If there’s one thing I recommend, it’s joining the text alert list.
Every week, text subscribers are the first to know when the menu opens.
That means you’ll have first dibs on bagels, boules, cinnamon buns, and whatever seasonal special happened to win the weekly vote.
Hotplate considers SMS subscribers the strongest predictor of future orders because they receive a direct notification every time a new drop opens.
If you’ve ever said,
“I saw your post…but it was too late,”
the text list fixes that problem.
